New Jersey governor announces endorsement Friday in Texas
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 election, Politico reports.
Christie made the announcement on Friday in Fort Worth, Texas.
The governor said, “I am proud to be here to endorse Donald Trump for president of the United States.”
In his endorsement, Christie said that Trump is the candidate with the best chance to beat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, noting, that he could “guarantee you that the one person that Hillary and Bill Clinton do not want to see on that stage is Donald Trump.”
The Clintons, Christie added, “do not know the playbook of Donald Trump because he is rewriting the playbook.”
Christie, previously a candidate in the 2016 election, ended his campaign Feb. 10.
On Tuesday, Trump racked up his third straight victory in primary season, winning the Nevada caucuses after coming out on top in New Hampshire and South Carolina.
