Chris Hayes’ Golden Globes Reaction: ‘Real White-Out Happening’

MSNBC host tweets on lack of African-American winners after Eddie Redmayne beats ‘Selma’s’ David Oyelowo

Tuning into the Golden Globes Sunday, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes saw a trend in the winners’ category.

The primetime anchor’s tweet came after Eddie Redmayne won best actor in a motion picture for “The Theory of Everything,” beating “Selma” actor David Oyelowo.

A few minutes later, “Boyhood” beat “Selma” for Best Motion Picture Drama. African-American director of “Selma,” Ava DuVernay, also lost for Best Director.

For the night, there were just two non-white winners: “Jane the Virgin” actress Gina Rodriguez for Best actress in a TV show and “Selma” winning for Best Original Song for Common and John Legend‘s “Glory.”

MSNBC told TheWrap “All In” with Chris Hayes will do a Golden Globes segment Monday night, so we’ll see if Hayes expands on his Twitter take on the “white-out.”
