The international trailer features Tom Clancy’s government hero exposing “Clear and Present Danger” to the United States

Chris Pine is going up against Mother Russia in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.”

The second preview for the upcoming thriller — based on the titular character created by author Tom Clancy in “The Hunt for Red October” — follows Ryan as he begins his career with the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency under a supervising officer played by Kevin Costner.

“Talk me through your very scary scenario,” Costner says. “Keep in mind I don’t have your PhD.”

“I think there’s a coordinated plot for a terrorist attack,” Pine tells his co-star. ” It’s going to be big.”

So big, in fact, that Tokyo, London and Shanghai will also take a dive in Russia’s global “wipeout.”

Kenneth Branagh directed the movie and stars as the main villain, while Keira Knightley plays Pine’s love interest, who gets in on the undercover action, too.

Paramount is releasing “Jack Ryan” on Christmas Day.
