Chris Pine Serenades a Fan With Frank Sinatra’s ‘Summer Wind’ on ‘Ellen’ (Video)

“Horrible Bosses 2” star admits to singing in the shower, before surprising a “Pine Nut” with a special song just for her

Chris Pine is a multi-talented actor, with admirable vocal chops on top of his handsome visage and screen talent. During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, the “Horrible Bosses 2” star admitted to singing in the shower, for the acoustics.

He said that he had a wide range of musical tastes, but a particular fondness for Frank Sinatra, which he proved a little later in the segment.

Pine sings in the upcoming Disney film “Into the Woods,” in theaters Dec. 25, recalling his awkward audition in front of director Rob Marshall, until Marshall started singing with him.

After talk transitioned to his massive fan base, and its adorable nickname “Pine Nuts,” DeGeneres revealed that she had a “Pine Nut” in the audience.

She invited the young woman, Eileen Lee, up to the stage to meet Pine, and it was a surreal experience for the fan, who marveled at how tall he was and how beautiful he was.

Lee was clearly star-struck, but she had her wits about her enough to sheepishly ask him if he could sing. And so Pine did, serenading his awestruck fan with a few lines from Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind.”

Chris Pine can next be seen in “Horrible Bosses 2,” in theaters Wednesday, Nov. 26. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airs weekdays in syndication.
