Her reaction was so “awesome,” it was the one the show used for the episode
The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star told Seth Meyers during a “Late Night” appearance (above) on Wednesday that he had gotten in trouble with executives after the incident, which was actually filmed and used in a Season 2 episode of “Parks and Rec.”
“They sent me a letter saying I'm not supposed to make a joke about this, so just so you know, this is really serious,” Pratt said.
Pratt was filming a scene where he shows up naked at the home of ex-girlfriend Ann (Rashida Jones), but Poehler's Leslie Knope opens the door instead. Pratt was supposed to be wearing flesh-colored underwear, but for one particular take, he decided to whip it out in hopes of prompting a more realistic reaction.
“It was at the end of the day, I'm not quite eliciting the response that I was hoping for from Amy,” Pratt said. “I was like three to four takes in, and Mitch — our boom operator — I was like, ‘Mitch, I'm going to go snake out on this one.'”
(Congrats, Mitch! You just got name dropped in a story told on national late-night television. How many boom operators can say that?)
Anyway, no need to go back and re-watch Season 2 of “Parks and Rec” just to search for this moment, because Meyers found it for you. Watch the “Late Night” segment all the way through to witness Poehler's reaction to unexpected nudity.
