CM Punk (above right) has a ton of fans from his WWE reign, and many of them were growing restless waiting for the wrestler’s UFC debut.

Now, we finally have an official start date, event and opponent for the crossover combat athlete.

Punk will compete at Cleveland’s UFC 203 on Sep. 10, 2016, the company said on Thursday. He’ll battle Mickey Gall (2-0) in a welterweight bout.

While that fight will surely draw a ton of eyeballs, the main event is still technically Stipe Miocic — a hometown boy — defending his UFC heavyweight title for the first time against Alistair Overeem.

In what is being billed as a “co-main event,” Fabricio Werdum faces Ben Rothwell.

CM Punk officially signed with the UFC in December 2014, so this bout has been a long time coming. In the interim, he’s been training with Duke Roufus and the renowned Roufusport team in Milwaukee.
