Conan O’Brien Parodies Cam Newton’s Abrupt Super Bowl Press Conference Exit (Video)

Carolina Panthers quarterback abruptly left post-game meeting with media following loss to Denver Broncos

Conan O’Brien has as little love for press conferences as Cam Newton, it turns out.

The TBS late-night host poked fun at Newton’s abrupt exit from a post-Super Bowl 50 press conference on Monday.

After having a joke about the Carolina Panthers quarterback fall completely flat (not even Andy Richter showed the joke any love), O’Brien attended a post-joke press conference to discuss what exactly went wrong.

After a few short answers, O’Brien simply got up and walked away from the assembled media, leaving Richter responsible for stepping in and taking charge.

Newton ended the press conference early Sunday night after the Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos. After answering reporters’ questions with extremely short answers, he simply got up and left. Newton has received backlash for the move,  with CBSSports.com‘s Bill Reiter saying, “he gave his haters ammunition.”
