Coolio isn’t exactly living in a Gangsta’s Paradise right now.

The rapper was slapped with a felony gun charge on Thursday, after a gun was allegedly found in a backpack belonging to him, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey, faces one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon with two priors and a maximum of three years in state prison if he is convicted as charged.

According to prosecutors, a handgun was allegedly found in Coolio’s bag while going through baggage inspection at Los Angeles International Airport.

The district attorney’s office said that the rapper was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon in 2001, and again of possession of cocaine base in 2009.

Shortly after the alleged incident at LAX, the rapper discussed the situation in a YouTube post, saying that he’s “fine.”

“I just want to say something about the little misunderstanding at the airport today,” Coolio said at the time. “Everything’s fine. I’m fine. As you can see, I’m at P.F. Chang’s having a meal and having a few drinks. I don’t know what the result of this is in the future, but for now, I’m fine.”

Police are still investigating the case.
