It’s been a devastating year for Iman.
The model, who lost her husband of 14 years, David Bowie, in January, said Friday that her mother has also died.
“Saddened by the death of my mom Maryan Baadi,” Iman, whose full name is Iman Abdulmajid, wrote on Twitter. “May Allah grant her the highest jennah #ripmaryanbadi.”
Iman, 60, included a photo of herself with her mother, as well as Bowie.
The news came the day after musicians including Michael Stipe, the Pixies, Cyndi Lauper, Laurie Anderson and Cat Power gathered at Carnegie Hall to perform a tribute concert to Bowie. A second tribute concert is scheduled Friday at Radio City Music Hall.
Bowie died at age 69 on January 10, following a battle with cancer.
