David Letterman Admits He Is Morning Drunk at Indianapolis 500 (Video)

If his racing team doesn’t win, ex-“Late Show” host tells “SportsCenter,” “I have every intention of faking my own death”

David Letterman is already celebrating with champagne at the Indianapolis 500 — or maybe it’s tequila, rum or even something more exotic.

“By the way, I’m drunk now,” he said Saturday morning on ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” one day ahead of the big Brickyard race — the 10oth to date.

The co-owner of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing was in town — and in a racing jacket — for the sold-out Sunday spectacle. Watch the brief Vine at the bottom of this post for the early admission.

Clearly, the ex-CBS host plans on his driver winning tomorrow. If the team falls short, there will be highly personal consequences for the comedian.

“If we don’t win … I have every intention of faking my own death,” Letterman said. “I know a fellow who will remove my fingerprints. I have a post office box somewhere on the planet, that’s all I can tell ya.”
