Disney's "Hovercar" is picking up speed.

Writer Dan Harris ("Superman Returns") will work on the script for the action-adventure movie, TheWrap has confirmed.

Four writers -- John Sayles, Greg Poirier, Blaise Hemingway and David DiGilio -- previously contributed to the screenplay, which is based on Matthew Riley's book "Hover Car Racer."

"Hovercar" is produced by Hemingway, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

The film follows two young brothers who are plucked from obscurity to attend the Hover Car Racing Academy. The story revolves around their time at the school and the high-speed races in which they compete.

Harris is represented by CAA and Loeb & Loeb.
