The folks at Just Not Sports had real men read real tweets made about female sports reporters Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro to their faces, and the guys couldn’t believe how nasty fans can get.
“One of the players should beat you to death with their hockey stick,” one message said.
Another referred to the women as “whores,” and then the messages started to get really mean, often referring to the ladies by the C-word. One commenter even said he “hopes your dog gets hit by a car.”
One classy commenter said he “hopes DiCaro is Bill Cosby‘s next victim,” and another said “I hope your boyfriend beats you.” Others mention rape and even murder.
