“District 9” director Neill Blomkamp is fueling rumors that there may have been an “Alien” sequel in the works.

“Was working on this. Don’t think I am anymore. Love it though. #alien #xenomorph,” the director tweeted along with some concept art on which he was working.

The drawings include an older version of Sigourney Weaver, back in Ripley mode, alongside Michael Biehn, apparently back as Corporal Hicks. The sequel, which looks like it won’t be made anymore — at least by Blomkamp — would have been titled: “Alien: Xenomorph.”

“Woulda rocked. Was a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created,” read a follow-up tweet.

“Ps this has nothing to do with the studio,” he also clarified. “I just feel like I might do something else instead. In which case why not show some work. They didn’t really even know I was working on it ha.”

Fox did not immediately respond to TheWrap‘s request for comment on the potential project.
