‘EastEnders’ Star Ben Hardy in Talks to Join ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ (Exclusive)

Bryan Singer is directing the comic book movie for 20th Century Fox

“EastEnders” star Ben Hardy is in talks for a key, as-yet-undisclosed role in Bryan Singer‘s “X-Men: Apocalypse,” multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

Representatives for 20th Century Fox and Hardy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and James McAvoy will all return to their roles as Mystique, Magneto, Beast and Professor X, respectively, while Oscar Isaac will play the film’s titular villain Apocalypse. Rose Byrne will also reprise her role of Moira MacTaggert.

New cast members include Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.

Hardy was among those who tested to play Cyclops, though the role ultimately went to Sheridan. Hardy was then rumored to be up for the role of Angel, though insiders say he has been cast in another important role that is being kept under wraps.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters on May 27, 2016.

Hardy, who plays on the hit UK series “EastEnders,” is represented by WME, Untitled Entertainment and Creative Artists Management in London.
