‘Empire’ Teases Season 2 Return to ‘the Lyons Den’ (Photo)

On Emmy nomination eve, Fox releases new art featuring stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard

Fox show "Empire" will be available to Sling TV customers under a new plan

There’s still months to go before the return of Fox’s megahit show “Empire” on September 23, but that isn’t stopping the network from teasing us with some brand new art.

In a photo released on “Empire’s” Twitter account, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) sit on a pair of golden thrones next to a lion and lioness. The photo bears the words, “Welcome back to the Lyons den.”

“Empire” was a ratings record breaker for Fox. The show’s finale achieved a 6.5 rating, drawing in 16.7 million total viewers. The show also broke a 23-year ratings record, as it is the only primetime scripted series to grow in total viewers over each of its first five telecasts.
