Watch Fiona Apple Sing ‘Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire’ (Video)

Apple unveils a new yuletide classic

“The Christmas Song,” just got a little more interesting thanks to Fiona Apple remixing the classic into a Donald Trump protest song.

The video first appeared on a Tumblr page titled “Fiona Apple Rocks.” The singer-songwriter kicks off the carol singing about the President-elect’s, um, nuts.

“Trump’s nuts roasting on an open fire,” sings Apple. “You cry ‘creepy uncle’ every time he arrives.”

Nat King Cole’s original “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” is further updated as the “Criminal” mastermind addresses Trump’s wealth, the worries of working people, and the unease of many people of color.

“Everybody knows some money and entitlement/Can help to make the season white,” sings the 39-year-old. “Mothers of color with their kids out of sight/Will find it hard to sleep at night.”

She ends the parody by ripping up a picture of Trump and wishing him a very sarcastic “Merry Christmas.” (At least he’ll be happy that she didn’t use the generic “Happy Holidays.”)

The satire also feature’s Apple’s dog on background vocals, barking off-key. Whether that’s in agreement or protest, we can’t say for sure.
