Has he been rowing the boat this whole time?

(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you are not caught up on “Game of Thrones”)

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 could feature the return of a character fans haven’t seen since Season 3, if a photo of a familiar face arriving at the Belfast airport is any indication.

That’s right: Gendry might finally be able to stop rowing.

Joe Dempsie, who played everybody’s favorite Baratheon bastard in seasons 1-3, was spotted getting off a plane in the Northern Ireland capital by an eagle-eyed fan.

A look at Dempsie’s IMDB page doesn’t show any projects in the works that would require him to be in Belfast, which has served as a home base for “Game of Thrones” for years now. Does this mean he could be gearing up to rejoin the show?

Gendry served as a friend and potential love interest for Arya early in the show’s run. In Season 3, he was betrayed by the Brotherhood Without Banners and sold to Melisandre, who intended to use Gendry’s royal blood in a blood magic ritual to put Stannis on the Iron Throne.

But Davos refused to let the boy die in such horrific fashion. He put Gendry in a row boat and told him the way to King’s Landing. He hasn’t been seen since. Should he return, he might cross paths with Arya again, as she returned to Westeros in the Season 6 finale.

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 is set to air in the summer of 2017.
