‘Goliath’ Renewed by Amazon for Season 2 With New Showrunner From ‘Dexter’

Clyde Phillips will take over legal drama’s day-to-day producing duties from David E. Kelley

Amazon has renewed Billy Bob Thornton legal drama “Goliath” for a second season.

Additionally, Clyde Phillips is set to join as showrunner, linking up with an executive producer team that includes David E. Kelley, Jonathan Shapiro, and Ross Fineman.

Phillips was showrunner on “Nurse Jackie” and the first four seasons of “Dexter.” “Goliath’s” previous showrunner Kelley is currently executive producing “Big Little Lies” for HBO.

“Amazon is proud of ‘Goliath’ and Billy Bob’s amazing, Golden Globe-winning performance,” said Joe Lewis, head of Comedy, Drama & VR at Amazon Studios. “Great shows like this help elevate the art of storytelling. We can’t wait to bring our customers a new season soon.”

Last month, Thornton won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama for “Goliath.”
