“The Good Fight” has cast “The Hangover” franchise alum Justin Bartha, TheWrap has confirmed.
Bartha will play Colin, a rising star in the state attorney’s office and one of Chicago’s most eligible bachelors. Sparks will fly between him and Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) after they spar in the courtroom.
Aside from the “Hangover” films, Bartha starred alongside Nicolas Cage in both “National Treasure” movies and in the Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy “Failure to Launch.” On the TV side, he starred in “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” and “The New Normal.”
Bartha is represented by CAA.
“The Good Fight,” a spinoff of “The Good Wife,” will pick up one year after the events of the final episode of the original series. In the new drama, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia (Rose Leslie), while simultaneously wiping out mentor Diane Lockhart’s (Christine Baranski) savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca at one of Chicago’s preeminent law firms.
Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel will also appear in the new show. Robert and Michelle King, who created the original series, will serve as the showrunners and executive producers. Phil Alden Robinson co-wrote and will executive produce the premiere episode along with the Kings.
Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, Brooke Kennedy and Alison Cross also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions.
“The Good Fight” will debut in February with the premiere airing on CBS before moving exclusively to CBS All Access, the network’s streaming service.
