Adele won five Grammys at the 59th Grammy Awards in February 2017, bringing her overall total to 15 across her career.
At the 2016 Grammys, Adele took home the biggest award of the night, winning “Album of the Year” for her album “25.” She also won “Best Pop Vocal Album” for “25.” Her single “Hello” won “Record of the Year,” as well as both “Best Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.”
In her acceptance speech for “Album of the Year,” Adele took the opportunity to thank fellow artist Beyonce repeatedly. Beyonce’s album “Lemonade” also was up for “Album of the Year,” and Adele said in her speech that “the artist of my life is Beyonce.”
Adele previously won “Album of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” in 2011 for “21.” That year saw Adele take six Grammys, one more than she took home in 2017. She also won “Record of the Year,” “Song of the Year” and “Best Short Form Music Video” for “Rolling in the Deep.” Her song “Someone Like You” won “Best Pop Solo Performance.”
Her Grammy wins were comparatively smaller in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, Adele won “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Set Fire to the Rain,” and in 2013 won “Best Song Written for Visual Media” for “Skyfall.”
