Patrick Dempsey is jumping across the pond for his first post-“Grey’s Anatomy” project. The actor is set to join Renee Zellweger in “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” an individual familiar with the deal told TheWrap.

Details of the role are being kept under wraps. The third film in the popular series is also set to include Colin Firth as Zellweger’s love interest Mark Darcy.

Working Title will produce with co-financing from Universal Pictures, Miramax and StudioCanal. The series is adapted from Helen Fielding’s novels about a hapless single woman who finds love in London.

The first two films, “Bridget Jones’s Diary” and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason,” have a combined gross of over $513 million worldwide.

Dempsey hasn’t had a big-screen outing since 2011’s “Transformers: Dark of The Moon.” He’s represented by UTA and The Burstein Company.
