‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer Finally Drops on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ (Video, Photos)

Fans have been waiting since August — krutacking AUGUST! — for another look at Marvel’s space misfits

“The Guardians of the Galaxy” is without question the goofiest, most random comic-book adaptation that Marvel will ever bring to the bigscreen.

And the Guardians are finally here, for all to enjoy in their absurd glory.

After a healthy tease at Comic-Con and D23 — footage that was kept mostly under wraps — Marvel/Disney debuted Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (wrestler Dave Bautista), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) and soon-to-be-fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) in a full-length trailer that debuted Tuesday night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

(Why Kimmel, you ask? Easy math: Kimmel = ABC = Disney = Marvel. )

Until Marvel announced that they were getting feature-film treatment, the Guardians have remained an obscure comic-book entity — but they shot up in prominence ever since, including a supporting role in Marvel’s massive, cross-title “Infinity” comic-book event that concluded earlier this year.

Marvel also released new stills on Tuesday night. See them below:
