Halle Berry Addresses Her Mysterious Space Pregnancy on ‘Extant’ (Video)

The 47-year-old actress discussed her upcoming sc-fi show with David Letterman on Monday’s “Late Show”

Halle Berry giggles in this teaser for Monday night’s episode of “The Late Show” while David Letterman speculates on the mystical cause of her new baby bump in her forthcoming CBS show, “Extant.”

The sci-fi series stars Berry as an astronaut who gets mysteriously impregnated while on a year-long mission in space. Letterman, of course, had a ball with the premise — he spends a sizable portion of their interview spinning kooky theories and trying to pry out plot details from the 47-year-old actress’s tightly pursed lips.

“First of all, how do you sell this to your husband in the show? ‘Well, wait a minute, you weren’t pregnant when you launched!’” Letterman joked, referring to the surprise her on-screen husband Goran Višnjić must’ve felt when she returned home with a bun already in the oven.

“Well, he’s as curious as everyone else is,” she responded.

“Curious? I’ll bet he’s curious,” Letterman laughed. “That’ll get your curiosity working, won’t it?”

Is she carrying an alien baby? Was she knocked up by a stowaway space shuttle repairman? Berry knows the answer to the show’s central enigma, but she wants viewers to tune in to find out.

“You’re going to have to watch for about 12 shows to figure that out,” she said coyly.

Not mentioned in “The Late Show” teaser was Malia Obama’s involvement in the pilot re-shoot. As TheWrap previously reported, the 16-year-old daughter of the President and the First Lady recently spent a day in Los Angeles assisting the production.

“Extant” premieres Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
