The first look at Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming Western movie “Hateful Eight” has been unveiled.

Entertainment Weekly gave the filmmaker’s loyal fans a glimpse at Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell as three of the “Hateful Eight” in costume on a new cover that the publication debuted online on Thursday.

Russell takes the lead as a bounty hunter, while Leigh stars as his fugitive in her first collaboration with Tarantino. Jackson, who has starred in numerous Tarantino productions, plays Major Marquis Warren, a union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter.

Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Channing Tatum and Demian Bichir also star in the Western set six or eight or 12 years after the Civil War.

The action follows Russell and Leigh who encounter a series of colorful characters when they seek refuge from a blizzard at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover. As the storm overtakes the mountainside, the eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all.

Tarantino told EW the movie will be more intimate than his last two productions, “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained.”

“For me it has more of a Western ‘Iceman Cometh’ kind of vibe about it,” Tarantino said.

The Weinstein Company will release “The Hateful Eight” later this year.
