Hearst is one of several publishers eager to expand its production of video for the web, a means of bolstering its magazines by extending their brand and bringing in new revenue.

Hearst recently launched a subscription video-on-demand channel for Cosmopolitan, and has plans to launch other channels for other magazines. Conde Nast has also launched web series for magazines like GQ and Vanity Fair, but those videos are free.

Moss will develop branded content, scripted series and unscripted shows.

His move was first reported by thevideoink.com.
