Henry Cavill Channels James Bond in First Trailer for Guy Ritchie’s ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ (Video)

Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander also star in action-comedy based on 1960s TV series

Henry Cavill plays a different kind of action hero in the first trailer for Guy Ritchie‘s “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” which also stars Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander.

The 1963-set story follows an American spy and Russian operative who are forced to work together to bring down a really, really bad guy who may have an atom bomb.

Tactics of taking the bad guy down include car chases, speedboat chases, dune buggy chases and other forms of chases, in addition to infiltrating fancy parties and putting the moves on Elizabeth Debicki, who plays the movie’s femme fatale.

Cavill plays Napoleon Solo, with Hammer as Illya Kuryakin, Solo’s fellow agent in the United Network Command for Law Enforcement. The characters were played by Robert Vaughan and David McCallum, respectively, on the 1960s TV spy series on which the film is based.

“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” will be released on Aug 14.
