Hilary Duff has two words for the critics of her mothering style: Kiss off.
“Lizzy McGuire” alum Duff put the haters on blast Tuesday, after apparently being criticized for planting a kiss on the lips of her four-year-old son, Luca.
“For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is ‘inappropriate’ go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgment,” Duff wrote.
The message came a day after the actress posted a photo of herself with Luca at Disneyland, in which she is seen planting a smooch on her son’s lips.
While the offended responses were apparently deleted from the post, comments supporting the actress remained as of press time.
“If you think it’s inappropriate for a mother to kiss her 4 year old son on the lips you don’t need to be looking at her morals, you need to be looking at your own!” one Duff defender wrote.
“I kiss my 8 year old little brother on the lips every chance I get! Some day I won’t be the cool big sister anymore! Gotta get the love while I can!!” another tossed in.
This isn’t the first time this year that Duff has courted criticism. In October, Duff was prompted to apologize for her Halloween costume,which featured the actress as a pilgrim and her then-boyfriend, trainer Jason Walsh, as a Native American, decorated with a headdress and face paint.
“I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume.It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my [heart] sorry,” Duff wrote.
Hopefully this time she can kiss and make up with the public too. Just, you know, on the cheek …
