Hillary Clinton Agrees to Debate Hosted by ‘Good Morning America’: ‘I’ll Be There’

Hillary Clinton agreed on Sunday to participate in a debate hosted by ABC News’ “Good Morning America.”

“I want a debate, and I’m confident that we can work out a time to do that,” she told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview to be aired on Monday.

“‘GMA’ offered a debate during ‘GMA’ on Friday the 15th. I’ll be there,” she added. “I think it’s a great opportunity to reach an audience that may not always be able because of other obligations to tune in to debates.”

It was the latest attempt to end the debate over debates. The campaigns for Clinton and Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator challenging her for the Democratic nomination, have been circling each other (and the dates on their respective calendars) trying to find a date that both campaigns could work with before the delegate-rich New York primary, which is scheduled for April 19.

Over the weekend, the Clinton campaign charged the Sanders camp of playing “games” over the debate schedule and for rejecting three possible debate day options.

Stephanopoulos’ full interview with Clinton airs on Monday on “Good Morning America.”
