Hillary Clinton Goes Viral After Democratic Debate for ‘No’ Answer About #DamnEmails

Fellow democratic candidate Bernie Sanders helps his opponnent light up the internet

Hillary Clinton shut down discussion regarding her email servers during Tuesday’s Democratic Presidential debate with one simple word.

CNN moderator Anderson Cooper was grilling Lincoln Chafee about critical statements he had made regarding Clinton’s private email server that she used while she was Secretary of State. Chafee responded, “”I think we need somebody with the best and ethical standards as our next president. That’s how I feel.”

Cooper then asked Clinton if she would like to respond. “No,” she said to thunderous applause from the audience.

Viewers of the debate quickly began making Vines of the moment, like the one below praising Clinton for her “Thug Life”-like answer.

Questions regarding Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as head of the State Department have dogged Clinton since she left office. Republicans have argued that the private email address represents a national security issue, while Clinton has contended that no such issue exists.

Clinton also got a huge assist from her primary election opponent Bernie Sanders, who used his time at the podium on Tuesday to proclaim, “The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.”

His statement, which he preceded with a warning that it “may not be great politics,” spurred trending hashtag #DamnEmails.
