‘House of Cards’ Season 4 Trailer Teases Underwoods at War (Video)

Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright star on Netflix political drama, which adds Ellen Burstyn to the cast for fourth season

The Underwoods are going to be at odds big time, based on the first trailer for Season 4 of Netflix’s “House of Cards.”

The new trailer also teases that Ellen Burstyn has joined Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright for the fourth season of Beau Willimon‘s political drama, which premieres on March 4.

The extended trailer is a trove of imagery that clears up a few immediate questions: First Lady Claire Underwood (Wright) has not fully absconded her post. It appears the wily Mrs. Underwood has taken residence in a house that suspiciously resembles where she and Frank (Spacey) started their political being — in his hometown of Gaffney, South Carolina, where he began as a congressman.

That would give Claire a decent amount of cloud-cover to hash out their marriage problems while still appearing to fall in line with her husband’s reelection campaign.

From there, we see the Class of 2016 present: Joel Kinnaman looks poised to be a hot, young, self-taking rival for Frank, though it’s unclear if he’s in the running for an office as high as President. Neve Campbell pops up, as does the little-reported Ellen Burstyn (please god let her play Claire’s mother).

Returning champs are here as well — Lars Mikkelsen as the cocky, shit-stirring Russian president Viktor Petrov, Molly Parker’s shady Congresswoman Jackie Sharp and Mahershala Ali’s former Presidential right hand Remy Danton.

Netflix has already renewed “House of Cards” for a fifth season, but Willimon is leaving after the upcoming fourth.

“House of Cards” Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on March 4.
