Until ABC booted Adam Lambert from its New Year’s Eve telecast, his performance could have welcomed 2010 on a racy note for free. Lambert’s consolation booking at a Pamela Anderson-hosted party on the Paramount lot will reach a far smaller audience and set you back $150. Lambert can take comfort in continuing to vanquish his “American Idol” victor Kris Allen. The latest shaming arrives in our roundup of the stars’ New Year’s drawing power.
Below is a ranked sampling of the “box office” that various names from the A-list to the F-list can command on the biggest party night of the year. Prices are based on lowest-tier general admission entry to their event.
· $425 – Performance art by 2009’s breakout attention magnet Lady Gaga at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. “Sticker” prices go as high as $25,000 for a poolside cabana for 25. (At left, the queen of New Year’s meets Queen Elizabeth II.)
· $375 – “The Hills” star Brody Jenner (right) will be “one” of the priciest hosts in the country at the Gansevoort in Miami Beach.
· $250 – Rapper, Actor, and Author 50 Cent at Pure inside Caesar’s Palace. No actual performance guaranteed.
· $210 – No microphone needed for Christina Aguilera, either. The normally party-shy songstress will “host” at TAO inside the Venetian in Las Vegas.
· $200 – “Twilight: New Moon” star Kellan Lutz with G4 TV’s soon to be “Iron Man 2” star Olivia Munn. The duo will launch new entry “Klutch” in Miami Beach. (Former Dancer-with-a-star Macy Gray appears elsewhere on “the beach”.)
· $150 – Adam Lambert and Pamela Anderson at Paramount Studios, LA.
· $144 – Eva Longoria “hosts” the opening of a venue she co-owns – Eve nightclub at City Center, Las Vegas. Kim Kardashian joins the ABC star.
· $100 - Mekhi Phifer with NBA star Allen Iverson at Siren Studios in LA.
· $45 – Various cast members from MTV’s “Real World” and VH1’s “Daisy of Love” franchises at Promenade in Manhattan.
· $30 – At the south end of the Las Vegas strip, American Idol winner Kris Allen and finalist Alison Iraheta command only $30 a ticket at the Mandalay Bay’s “hassle free” block party celebration. See it on Fox for free.

I wish I could go to the NYE to see Adam Lambert in Hollywood. Your all so lucky. I have to work until 8:00p.m. at Walmart in San Diego. This sucks the big one. Bless them all, Adam, Kris and Allison,and may these friends accomplish all they hope for. They all have different styles, which has been mentioned many, many, times, so, for goodness sake, give them all lots of room to grow and learn and entertain. I am more of an Adam fan but, Kris is going to have, I believe, the career he works for, if that is what he wants. I think Allison is young and it may take her a little more time, but, she has a unique voice and personality that will take her where she wants to go as well. Let's just see what the new year brings!!!

I think you misunderstood what Vicky was trying to put accross. She is not defending Kris here in the sense that there is nothing to defend. She was just saying things as they are and it's very true what she said. Adam and Kris are all new artists and are competing against all these established and new artists in the industry. Both of them are doing okay so far and I believe they are happy with what they are doing. People are too quick to dismiss Kris just because he's not like Adam. Adam is not Kris and Kris is not Adam. Their career paths will be different and obviuosly they can't be marketed in the same way because they have different personalities.
But I'll just warn folks to be care ful because nobody know the fitur ,not even what will happen the next minute. We've seen idols who sold so much in the beginning but couldn't keep up because they were still living on the idol fanbase. At the moment they all need fans outside the idol bubble to succeed. Truely, Kris is making more dough on his album sales than Adam even with his low sales and that's not defense but a fact. It was a smart move on Kris' side to stick his guns on getting more co-writes because that's where the money is. Also album sales are not limited to a time period, so lets give these guys time than predicting failure less than 2 months of their debut. Peace!

In fact, I am donating to the Red Cross to see him on NYE. I still sort of wish he had been on NY rockin' eve but seriously, as a fan, hearing 10 songs from him live is like awesome. He may not be on TV but you bet the media will cover and he will get the exposure that way. And I am sure some youtube vids will sneak out.

Some Adam fans are very delusional and will spin anything to satisfy their delusion. Who says appearance on TV is not better than a private gig that would not be televised? Sheesh! I'm shocked that people are still liviing in the world of denial. Adam will be very thrilled to be shown on TV even if only housemaids are going to watch. Mind you, Fox is a national local channel and these days lots of people stay indoors and have their own parties instead of going out. You let it look as if Adam is going to be paid for what he's doing. None of them is and whether he's vanquishing Kris or not, Kris is the American Idol 2009 and nothing will change that. Who cars if Adam is selling albums more than Kris.He might be selling more but Kris gets about $40,000 on every 100,000 copies of albums sold because of his 8 co-writes and one solo write alone. Adam needs to sell almost 3X what Kris sells to make that. So you see, it's not different at all and Kris' single is selling better too. We will see who wil have the last laugh.

Adam's NYE thing is a huge event. He has been given a 40 minute set to include 10 songs. The event raises money for the Red Cross. His fans will be there to enjoy him...never fear. To me, this is going to be so much better than a 1 song prerecorded appearance on Rocking New Years. Adam has no need to be on TV right now, as he has already been on every show..lol.
I love our girl Allison and wish Kris well, but I for one will not be watching TV on NYE/

First of all, I believe the ticket prices for these NYE gigs were set well before any of the performers were booked. The Gridlock NYE party at Paramount is a HUGE blowout thing every year -- it is the biggest NYE party in L.A. regardless of who the headliner is -- it has several other musical acts, multiple DJ's, food & drinks, etc. It would cost $150 whether Adam performed there or not. Likewise, the price to attend the Billboard NYE thing in Vegas doesn't have anything to do with the performers.
Second of all, Kris is actually outselling/outperforming Adam in terms of singles/radio airplay. Kris' single has sold nearly as many copies as Adam's 3 released singles (TFM, FYE, WWFM) COMBINED. Kris is the one who has a song on the Billboard Top 40 -- not Adam.
Now on the other hand, Adam has sold more than twice as many albums as Kris. But so far, neither one has "vanquished" the other. Both have been successful in terms of sales and charts, just in different areas.
Lastly, Adam and Kris are very good friends. It would be nice if the media dropped the whole Adam vs. Kris stuff - it got old about 6 months ago and was never very relevant, given their different musical styles and personalities.

Jay - Kris did some humanitary work prior to Idol. After the tsunami in Thailand, Kris went there and helped build homes and feed people. He also went to South Africa to help with AIDS relief. I'm sure, like Adam, he will continue to help people in need. They're both worthy of our respect.

Adam Lambert is singing at the same venue that his friend Katy Perry sang at (think you know her). I'm sure he would not have been able to sing 10 songs from his album on ABC's NYE show. He is also raising money for the Red Cross. His audience will consist of fans and some Hollywood stars that come out to support the Red Cross and enjoy talented performances. So, although he won't be on tv, I think that his audience will have a rocking great time, the Red Cross will benefit, and Adam will sing his face off and rock 5555 Melrose Avenue. Lucky people!

Call me crazy, but the BB King gig (of which the cover is $30) on Wednesday is NOT the same gig as the Billboard New Year's Eve Live hosted by Carmen Electra with Eva Longoria Parker in the house which airs on FOX on New Year's Eve - Thursday. I have provided some of the verbiage of the articles and the links. (I am thinking someone is a total douche who does not check facts. I'm equally thrilled that Kris' single is doing so well. Kris rocked Madison Square Garden as thousands of fans sang along to his single. So, in what universe has Adam been shaming Kris other than the universe of notoriety? Even if your implication were true, which it isn't, you imply that Adam would take comfort in "vanquishing" his friend. You must not think much of Adam's character if that is so. Is this a joke? I think the point of Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta performing on New Year's Eve is to be exposed to a large TV audience to help sell their music, not to make money for their appearance. Which is why I'm sure Adam Lambert would prefer to be performing for free if he could be on the TV special he was booted from.
