Jake Gyllenhaal Is Powered by New Eminem Music in Latest ‘Southpaw’ Trailer (Video)

The Weinstein Company film hits theaters July 24

A new, extended trailer of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s upcoming movie, “Southpaw” teases rapper Eminem‘s new song, titled “Kings Never Die,” featuring Gwen Stefani.

In the film, Gyllenhaal plays champion prize fighter Billy Hope, who inadvertently causes the death of his wife when he lets his anger get the best of him in a street fight.

Consumed by grief and addiction, Hope loses his daughter to child protective services and is ultimately suspended from professional boxing. He tries to stage a comeback with the help of a veteran trainer (Forest Whitaker).

The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is best known for heading up “Training Day” and “The Equalizer.” “Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter and Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer”) wrote the screenplay.

Eminem released another song from the film’s soundtrack last month, titled “Phenomenal.”

“Southpaw” will hit theaters July 24.
