Jake Gyllenhaal, Kerry Washington Join SXSW 2016 Panel Lineup

Other speakers include Sarah Green, Christian Slater and Sam Esmail

Jake Gyllenhaal and Kerry Washington will be among the featured panelists at the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival in March, SXSW Film announced Tuesday.

Christian Slater, Sam Esmail, Rami Malek and Sarah Green are also set to be a part of panel discussions at the festival, which will take place from Mar. 11 to Mar. 19 in Austin, Texas.

The SXSW Film Conference is a crash course for working filmmakers, industry pros and film fans, covering a wide array of topics ranging from content creation to new distribution models.

“Jake continues to deliver outstanding performances in brave, outside-the-box roles,” said Head of SXSW Film Conference and Festival Janet Pierson, adding that producer “Sarah Green is a talented hands-on creative producer working with some of our most unique and visionary directors. Both Jake and Sarah have fascinating careers full of excellent, non-formulaic work, which is a SXSW sweet spot.”

Washington will take part in a panel discussion about “The New Rules of Social Stardom.”

SXSW features 200 informative and entertaining keynotes, conversations, panels, workshops and mentor sessions, plus more than 400 Convergence sessions. Featured Sessions spotlight people and trends important to the SXSW community and offer attendees the opportunity to witness acclaimed actors, directors and producers in an intimate environment.

Last year’s participants included Mark Duplass, Ava DuVernay, Amy Schumer, RZA and Ryan Gosling.
