Nic Mathieu is directing the movie, which will be distributed by Universal
After a blockbuster year in which he co-starred in three studio tentpoles, James Badge Dale is in negotiations to star in Legendary’s upcoming supernatural thriller “Spectral,” TheWrap has learned.
The original treatment, which was described as a supernatural “Black Hawk Down,” was purchased from Ian Fried, though George Nolfi wrote the script with an assist from rewriter John Gatins.
Dale co-starred in Paramount’s “World War Z,” and Disney’s “Iron Man 3” and “The Lone Ranger.” He next stars opposite Katie Holmes in “Miss Meadows, and will soon be seen in Joe Carnahan‘s “Stretch.” He’s repped by CAA, MJ Management and attorney Geoff Oblath.
Legendary’s recent releases included Zack Snyder‘s “Man of Steel,” Guillermo del Toro‘s “Pacific Rim” and the Jackie Robinson biopic “42.” The company’s upcoming films include “Godzilla,” “Warcraft” and “300: Rise of an Empire.”
