“If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me!” Franco tells blogger community
James Franco has been making headlines of late for his online activities. In particular, there seems to be a lot of buzz surrounding his Instagram account, and the pictures he chooses to post there — as well as the underage people he sometimes chooses to flirt with.
Last week, he posted a near-nude image that he took down a few hours later. Nevertheless, it became headline news across the Internet (with the deleted picture intact in all the write-ups).
During his appearance on “Late Show,” David Letterman asked the actor about his Instagram adventures. “To me, it’s just a fun thing,” Franco explained. “It’s something I don’t put a ton of thought into, but it gets a lot of attention.” In fact, the actor seemed a little surprised at just how much attention he’s been getting for it.
“It’s not like I’m putting it on billboards,” Franco insisted. “Ostensibly, Instagram is for my fans, but now all the bloggers are following me on there, and they’ll just take and use my images for whatever they want.”
His solution for anyone who has a problem with how he uses Instagram? “If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me!”
If you do want to see it, you can follow James Franco on Instagram. But you’d better be quick, because you never know when he might delete it.
