Jason Jones won’t be detouring from TBS any time soon: His family sitcom “The Detour” has been renewed for a 13-episode Season 2 before its actual series premiere.

The show was created by the husband-and-wife team of Jones and Samantha Bee. Both write and executive produce, though Bee spends her on-camera time with TBS’s “Full Frontal.” That late-night series just got a full-year pickup at the main Turner comedy cable channel.

“The Detour” also stars Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll. It debuts Monday at 9/8c on TBS.

“I’m very excited to be going back to making my favorite show not yet on TV and look forward to making outrageous demands in my rider for the second season,” Jones said.

“Jason and Sam’s vision and execution of the first season was original and unexpected at every ridiculous turn,” said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS. “Having Jason as executive producer, director and star really brought a definition to the voice of the characters and a realism to this family.”

“The Detour” also counts Brennan Shroff and Tony Hernandez among its executive producers.
