Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper Movie ‘Serena’ to Hit iTunes, VOD Early

Susanne Bier’s drama will be available on Feb. 26, a full month before its theatrical release on March 27

The new Bradley CooperJennifer Lawrence movie “Serena” will debut on iTunes and VOD this Thursday, Feb. 26 in advance of its theatrical release on March 27.

Directed by Susanne Bier and based on the bestselling novel by Ron Rash, “Serena” is a sumptuous period romance that marks the third collaboration between Cooper and Lawrence after “Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle.”

Cooper and Lawrence play George and Serena Pemberton, passionate, love-struck newlyweds who are building their timber empire in the North Carolina mountains at the end of the 1920’sSerena proves herself equal to any man, overseeing loggers, hunting rattle-snakes and even saving a man’s life in the wilderness.  With power and influence on their side, the Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their inflated love and ambitions.  However, once Serena discovers George’s hidden past and faces an unchangeable fate of her own, their passionate marriage begins to unravel – thrusting the pair toward a dramatic reckoning.

“Serena” was written by Christopher Kyle and produced by Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz, Paula Mae Schwartz, Todd Wagner, Ron Halpern, Ben Cosgrove and Bier.

Fans will be able to get an early look at the film via iTunes, AT&T UVerse, Comcast, DirectTV, Dish, Time Warner, Verizon FIOS and more.

Lawrence and Cooper are reuniting yet again with director David O. Russell on “Joy,” which is currently shooting in Massachusetts.
