Jimmy Fallon Celebrates Throwback Thursday With ‘TGIF’-Style Theme Song (Video)

You’re glad the weekend is here — and so is “The Tonight Show” host, so he is celebrating “Full House” style

What better way to get excited for the weekend than with a happy song from Jimmy Fallon?

The late-night host kicked off Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show” with jaunty TGIF-style opening credits featuring an original theme song written and performed by Jesse Frederick, who sang the themes to “Full House,” “Family Matters” and “Step by Step.”

Just like the classic sitcoms, the cheerful tune was accompanied by lots of smiling shots of Fallon, Steve Higgins, Questlove and the rest of the Roots — one whom was reading a magazine titled “Bong Fancy.”

The laughing bunch was highlighted with bright ’90s colors to really set the tone of the skit.

Thank God it’s Friday …

“The Tonight Show” airs at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
