Jimmy Fallon has some advice for Stephen Colbert as the former “Colbert Report” host prepares to go head-to-head against Fallon’s “Tonight Show”: Go ahead and injure yourself.

With Colbert making his “Late Show” premiere on Tuesday, Fallon fired off a smart-aleck tweet wishing Colbert and his colleagues the best of luck — in a totally backhanded way.

“To our friends at @colbertlateshow, congrats on your first show and hopefully dozens more. Break a finger,” Fallon tweeted Tuesday.

If it’s one thing that Fallon knows —  besides late-night hosting, of course — it’s hand injuries.

In June, the “Saturday Night Live” alum was forced to cancel taping of his show after he was hospitalized by a hand injury that he later likened to “a cheap horror movie.”

According to Fallon, he injured his hand after tripping and falling on a rug in his kitchen. While Fallon was catching his fall, his finger went “sideways.”
