May the Pikachu be with you, John Boyega.

Boyega, who reprises his role as Finn in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” revealed in a recent interview that he caught a prized Pikachu while playing wildly popular app “Pokemon Go” on the set of the film.

“I found a Pikachu at Pinewood Studios while filming ‘Star Wars.’ I told EVERYBODY. ‘I got a Pikachu!’” Boyega told TechCrunch. “I was the most popular kid on set for like a day.”

Boyega, who said that he’s “[c]urrently at level 5” with the app and that his “CP [Combat Powers] levels are looking good,” added that he’s seen the chaos that the game can cause but noted that it’s also doing its part to create unity in an increasingly fractious era.

“I was in Boston a few days ago and I thought there was like a fight going on, there were so many people crowding,” Boyega said. “I was like, ‘What’s going on? Oh, they’re just playing Pokemon.’”

“It’s great the ways technology has brought us all together. It’s a very interesting time,” Boyega added.

Hopefully Boyega was cautious while playing on set. “Pokemon Go” can be a dangerous pastime, and the “Star Wars” revival has already seen its share of injuries.
