John Travolta, Ethan Hawke to Star in Revenge Western ‘In a Valley of Violence’

Ti West (“The Sacrament”) will direct the movie, which will be produced by Jason Blum’s company Blumhouse

Hollywood appears to have forgiven John Travolta for his Adele Dazeem slip-up at the Academy Awards, as the two-time Oscar nominee and Ethan Hawke are both in negotiations to star in Ti West‘s revenge-driven Western “In a Valley of Violence,” an individual familiar with the Blumhouse project has told TheWrap.

Jason Blum will produce alongside West’s longtime collaborators Jacob Jaffke and Peter Phok.

Plot details remain under wraps, but West hit Twitter on Tuesday to clarify that the period project is not a horror movie.

West is best known for directing “The House of the Devil” and “The Innkeepers,” and genre fans were surprised to see him try something a bit different, though as the title implies, there will be no shortage of violence.

Hawke is a longtime friend of Blum’s who starred in the company’s surprise hits “Sinister” and “The Purge.”

Travolta next stars alongside Christopher Plummer and Tye Sheridan in “The Forger.”

West’s latest movie, “The Sacrament,” will be distributed this spring by Magnet Releasing.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.
