Jon Stewart responded to Hillary Clinton’s presidential launch Monday, saying he was underwhelmed by her video.
“This is boring as shit,” Stewart said about Clinton dropping a series of average Americans in her video before even appearing. “It’s ordinary people stuff—opening doors, changing gravel buckets…oh I know that lady!”
He then played TV clips explaining her new strategy of pounding the pavement to earn every Americans’ vote.
“A refreshing change from her 2008 strategy—shut up, I’m talking,” he said. He then turned to the pundits, playing a clip of Fox News’ Brit Hume asking if Americans really want another eight years of the Clintons’ “weird marriage.”
To this, Stewart sunk into his old-man, grumpy voice: “Maybe, I’m old fashioned; I want a president that’s part of a couple I can get along with. Maybe later on in the night I can swing with—Ron and Nancy, two gin and tonics, I’d bang either one of them.”
He finished by showing clips of NRA President Wayne LaPierre slamming Hillary: “I guess your dog whistle wasn’t working, and you just went with your regular whistle.”
