Jonah Hill Talks Golden Globes, Emma Stone and ‘Moonlight’ (Exclusive Video)

“That was really cool,” actor says of buddy Stone’s win for “La La Land”

Jonah Hill, a surprise Best Actor nominee for “War Dogs” at Sunday night’s Golden Globes Awards, could not have been more excited about some of the night’s big winners — especially “La La Land” star Emma Stone’s victory as Best Actress – Comedy or Musical.

“That was really cool,” Hill told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell of his co-star on the upcoming Netflix series “Maniac.” “I was in the bathroom and then I heard her name called and I ran out and stood in the back and watched her speak and it was really special.”

Though Hill himself lost in the Best Actor – Comedy or Musical category to Stone’s “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling, he welcomed the chance to reconnect with some of his Hollywood buddies — and to introduce himself to others whose work he admires.

“I got to meet Barry Jenkins last night,” Hill said of the writer-director of Best Drama winner “Moonlight.” “It was fun to, like, see him so happy. That movie is so moving and incredible.”

The actor also sang the praises of director Mike Mills’ “20th Century Women.”

“The whole movie is phenomenal,” he said. “I think Mike Mills is a genius and one of the most emotionally complex filmmakers around.”
