Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston Join NBC’s ‘Red Nose Day’ Charity Special

Others appearing are Neil Patrick Harris, Coldplay, Paul Rudd and Eddie Redmayne to benefit children’s organizations

Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, and Julianne Moore are among some of the stars scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Red Nose Day” special, the network announced Thursday. The three-hour live event airs on May 21.

Additional celebrities include Jodie Foster, Reese Witherspoon, Neil Patrick Harris, Paul Rudd, Sienna Miller, Olivia Wilde, Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom,  Leslie Mann, among others.

“Game of Thrones’ cast members Kit Harrington, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Emilia Clarke and others will also be present, as well as certain cast members from Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black.”

A popular annual event in the United Kingdom, this is the first year it’s coming to America. The benefit event will help 12 charity organizations lift children and young people out of poverty in the U.S. and throughout the world. Over the last 30 years, Red Nose Day has raised more than $1 billion.

The event will also feature comedy, videos produced by Funny Or Die and various music performances.

People from all walks of life are encouraged to have fun and raise money through buying red noses (sold exclusively at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores), organizing fundraising events and watching and donating during the television special.

Previously announced stars include Will Ferrell, Jack Black, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Michelle Rodriguez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Smith, John Legend and “Voice” coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams.
