‘Kingsman: the Golden Circle’ Trailer: the Dude, Magic Mike and an Eyepatch

The official trailer for the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s campy 2015 hit shows off cowboys Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and the return of Colin Firth

A week after star Taron Egerton teased it with a super-compressed 10-second blipvert, 20th Century Fox has dropped the official trailer for “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”

Set to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” the clip gives viewers their first look at the returning cast, along with franchise newcomers Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Sophie Cookson, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Halle Berry and, most importantly, Colin Firth’s eyepatch. Watch it above, and be pleased they went with the Sinatra original instead of the over-played Sid Vicious cover.

The sequel to the campy 2015 spy thriller sees newly minted Kingsman Eggsy (Egerton) and Roxy (Sophie Cookson) travel with their tech advisor Merlin (Mark Strong) to the U.S. after their headquarters is destroyed by Poppy (Julianne Moore), a criminal mastermind who holds connections to the shadowy organization known as The Golden Circle.

While there, Eggsy and Roxy team up with the Statesmen, the American counterparts to the Kingsmen. While the Kingsmen bear codenames based on the Knights of the Round Table, like Galahad and Lancelot, the Statesmen bear alcoholic codenames, like Tequila (Channing Tatum) and Jack Daniels (Pedro Pascal).

Jeff Bridges plays the head of the Statesmen, with Halle Berry as the group’s tech support. Colin Firth and Michael Caine will reprise their roles as Harry Hart and Chester King, who were both thought to have been killed off in the last “Kingsman” film.

Once again directed by Matthew Vaughn, “The Golden Circle” hits theaters September 22, 2017.
