While many think it’s overdue for Mattel to manufacture Barbies of varying body types, at least one actress isn’t happy about the doll’s recently announced transformation.

Kirstie Alley took to Twitter Thursday morning to ask the world, “are we seriously going to imply that BARBIE needs to be taken seriously? Jeez bring back 1965 where BARBIE just looked like freak!”

On Thursday, toy company Mattel unveiled a new lineup of Barbies, which includes three different body types: petite, tall and curvy. Each is an actual Barbie — so, not just a friend — and is also available in different skin and hair-color combinations. Many even have a flatfooted option, for those women who don’t wear heels every waking moment.

“Will they change the world?”documentarian Rory Kennedy, one of the collaborators, asked herself. “No. But it’s relevant for little girls to see a doll that looks like them.”

Alley, however, disagrees and recalls a time when Barbies were not considered role models for young girls.

“I’m glad I was raised in the 50’s when a doll was an object, not a role model, & boys could call me a cootie without going to the principal,” she tweeted.
