Momentum Pictures has acquired North American distribution rights for the Dakota Fanning Western “Brimstone.”

The thriller, which also stars “Game of Thrones” lead Kit Harington and Guy Pearce, played at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival to positive reviews.

Fanning stars as frontier woman on the run for a crime she didn’t commit, with a vengeful Reverend (Pearce) hot on her trail.

Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce‘s strong performances truly capture the work and vision of filmmaker Martin Koolhoven,” Momentum SVP of Content Ian Goggins said in a statement.

Els Vandevorst (“Dogville”) and Uwe Schott (“Cloud Atlas”) produced the film, with co-producers by Paul Trijbits, Antonino Lombardo, Manuel Chiche and Peter Hiltunen.

Sejin Croninger, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Acquisitions for Entertainment One, negotiated the deal for Momentum. CAA represented the filmmakers.

Fanning can currently be seen in Ewan McGregor‘s directorial debut “American Pastoral.”

Harington returns for “Thrones” production in 2017, and just finished work on the buzzy first English-language effort from Cannes darling director Xavier Dolan, “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.”

“Donovan” features a major star ensemble including Natalie Portman, Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon, Michael Gambon, Thandie Newton and Bella Thorne.
