Even as he continues his physical recovery after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel last month, former NBA star Lamar Odom could find himself with new trouble on the legal front.
Nye County, Nevada, district attorney Angela Bello told the Associated Press on Monday that a prosecutor is mulling filing a charge of unlawful use of cocaine, or being under the influence of a controlled substance, against Odom.
Odom was found unconscious in the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, after booking a multi-day spree with two prostitutes. Though 911 calls placed by brothel employees indicated that Odom had admitted to using cocaine prior to his arrival at the brothel and had used up to 10 herbal sexual enhancement supplements during his stay, court papers obtained by TheWrap indicate that there’s evidence Odom may have ingested cocaine during his brothel stay.
Police also obtained a warrant to draw blood from Odom for testing.
After being hospitalized in Nevada, Odom is continuing his recovery in Los Angeles. His estranged wife, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Khloe Kardashian, revealed last week that Odom hasn’t asked why he has a brain injury, and that he’s often confused, sometimes unaware of his age.
