Vincent Kartheiser is attached to star in “Debt,” a new series being developed at WGN America, TheWrap has confirmed.

In this series, Kartheiser would play a man who loses everything in his life and decides to partner with a debt collection agency that takes from the rich and gives to the poor.

Kartheiser famously played Pete Campbell on the AMC show “Mad Men” for its entire seven season run. He will also star in the upcoming Nat Geo miniseries “Saints and Strangers,” which tells the story  of the original English settlers of the Plymouth Colony in 1620.

Neil LaBute is also attached to direct the project. LaBute is known for his work in film and on the stage. He directed the 2010 American adaptation of “Death at a Funeral” with Chris Rock and Peter Dinklage. He also wrote and directed the 2003 film adaptation of his play “The Shape of Things” in 2003, which was an early starring vehicle for Paul Rudd.

LaBute and Kartheiser will executive produce the series along with Christina Wayne and writer Ian MacDonald, as well as Jennifer Kennedy and Bradley Walsh. Wayne’s Assembly Entertainment and Endemol Shine Studios are producing.

Kartheiser is represented by Paradigm and Untitled Entertainment.
