Michael C. Hall to Play John F. Kennedy in ‘The Crown’ Season 2

Jodi Balfour will join him as wife Jacqueline on the acclaimed Netflix drama

Michael C. Hall has been cast as John F. Kennedy in Season 2 of the Netflix drama “The Crown,” TheWrap has confirmed.

In addition, Jodi Balfour will play his wife and First Lady Jackie Kennedy. This will mark the first appearance of the American First Family on the Netflix drama, which follows the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II (Claire Foy).

Hall is best known for the Showtime series “Dexter,” in which he played the titular serial killer who preyed exclusively on other serial killers. The actor was nominated for five Emmys for the role and won a Golden Globe for his performance in 2010.

Balfour most recently starred in the Cinemax series “Quarry.” She’s also appeared in the miniseries “The Best Laid Plans” and “Bomb Girls.”

Filming for Season 2 of “The Crown” is currently underway. It will begin with Her Majesty’s Armed Forces fight an illegal war in Egypt and will end with the downfall of her third Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, following a scandal.

Series star Claire Foy won a Golden Globe for her role on the series, with the series itself taking home the Globe for best drama.

There is not currently a premiere date for Season 2 of “The Crown.”
